VINTAGE
The 2006 vintage was yet another year of perfect grape growing weather in Washington State. After a wetter than normal Spring, a long, hot summer blossomed, decreasing the quantity harvested, but increasing the quality. In addition to this already low yield we went through and dropped fruit in our best block of Chardonnay in order to further concentrate the flavors of our first ever Reserve Chardonnay.

WINEMAKING
Our Reserve Chardonnay was whole cluster pressed to tank and cold settled for 24 hours. The juice was then racked into 100% new French Oak barrels for fermentation. To increase texture and mouth feel this was followed up with malolactic fermentation and battonage (stirring of the lees). After an extended period of barrel aging, the barrels were gently racked to tank and bottled.

WINEMAKER COMMENTS
The 2006 Reserve Chardonnay is indeed a special wine. This golden colored wine wafts aromas of melon, peach and toasted coconut. The palate is treated to wonderful flavors of apple, Asian pear, dried mango and a subtle creaminess. Lively acids contribute to a long, enjoyable finish. Try pairing this wine with fresh salmon and a lemon-butter sauce or pork tenderloin roasted with apples and served with an apple-brandy cream sauce.
