Vintage

The 2006 vintage was yet another year of perfect grape growing weather in Washington State. After a wetter than normal Spring, a long, hot summer blossomed, decreasing the quantity harvested, but increasing the quality. Autumn was ideal with dry and warm conditions, marking harvest pleasant and flavors perfect.

Winemaking

Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes were immediately pressed after harvest with the juice being pumped off the skins after only a few hours, which resulted in the beautiful blush color. Both wines were gently barrel fermented and then blended together.

Winemaker Comments

Rich fragrances of strawberry leap from the glass to greet the nose. Flavors are strawberry with hints of salmonberry. Pair with BBQ Pork ribs, Kansas City style or fresh fruit and a cheese plate.
